Learn idiomatic expressions in German with teacher Julia and learner Mark. In this short course of ten lessons you'll join native speaker and Coffee Break German Cultural Correspondent Julia who is helping German learner Mark expand his range of expression through the use of idiomatic expressions.
Topics covered include idioms for talking about the weather, e.g. es regnet in Strömen (the equivalent of "it's raining cats and dogs"), talking about being angry, e.g. die Wände hochgehen (the equivalent of "to be driven up the wall") and idioms about falling in love including bis über beide Ohren verliebt sein, literally meaning "to be in love to above both ears".
A Flavour of German features ten "words on screen" video lessons and a course booklet in pdf format which provides further examples of the phrases in context.
